Who is Dean Graziosi?

For a lot of us, the future feels uncertain right now.  It’s easy to get swept up in that feeling and to get stuck.  If that’s where you are mentally, that’s okay.  You’re not alone in that feeling.

In fact, many people are at a similar spot as we reach the halfway point of 2023.  Finding ways to cope with this sensation isn’t an easy task.  Sure, there are self help blogs such as this one, but that sort of thing really only goes so far.  Some of us need an extra boost, and that can be a challenge.

If you’re looking for some actionable ways to improve your current standing in life, as well as inspiration to pursue further projects or passions, then this is the article for you!  We’ll share some tips that we’ve picked up along the way, as well as explain some techniques that you can use to inspire yourself.

Be Intentional with Your Time

Bear with us for a moment – at first glance, our message here might seem quite cheesy.  Still, though, this doesn’t diminish from its value.  The first thing we’d like to mention is that time is precious.  We don’t have it infinitely, which means that when we choose to do something, it should be for a good purpose.

This is what we mean by being “intentional” with our time.  In every instance that you have the choice between doing two (or more) activities, you should think to yourself whether it is worth your while.  Beyond that though, there’s a bit more to this.

Have you ever heard of this formula: preparation plus luck equals an opportunity?  This is the primary thing that podcast hosts such as the subject of our title emphasize in their work – it’s the formula that a lot of those who are most successful in the business world use!  The idea is that when we’re approaching a new venture, we have to take all of the factors into account.

There are a few examples of this that we can get into.  Anyone who is looking to quit their current job and instead strive to open the business of their dreams will probably need to do some preparation work to achieve that.  Hours of income lost is just one of the factors that need to be considered in that sort of scenario.

On a final note for this section, if you are truly feeling stuck and like you have no way out of a situation, consider utilizing resources like this one: https://www.wikihow.com/Get-Unstuck.  Mental health definitely isn’t something to be taken lightly.

Remember that Nothing Lasts Forever – Including the Bad Things in Life!

When we’re stuck in a funk, it’s not exactly hard to get caught up in that sensation and feel like we’re simply in the mud, unable to escape.  Again, though, although this may sound cheesy or silly at first glance, it can be genuinely heartening to remember that nothing lasts forever.  Even the worst of our experiences will eventually come to an end.

With this knowledge, we can look ahead towards the future and understand that better things are down the road.  And hey, sure, those won’t be eternal either, but it’s still quite a comforting thought.  Just something to keep in mind even if it doesn’t necessarily “solve” every issue that a person might have.

Focus on Growth Rather than “Punishing” Yourself

Everyone has off days.  No one is perfect, and sometimes it can be easy to forget that fact.  Most of us are much harsher on ourselves than anyone else in our lives, and that’s why we want to mention this final point.

Now, keep in mind that if you seek out some additional information about Dean, you’re likely to see a lot more information on this specific aspect of “self-help” or “self-motivation.”  It’s one of the main points of his podcast, so you may find it worth checking out if this is something that interests you.  With that said, let’s tackle the main issue at hand.

When someone that you know has messed up or made some sort of mistake, what is your first instinct?  Depending on who you thought of, there’s a good chance that the first answer isn’t going to be to rip their head off or reprimand them super harshly.

Rather, you would likely try to use the instance as a teaching moment of sorts, or simply cut them some slack.  Maybe they’re having a bad day, or maybe they didn’t fully understand the task at hand – either way, the point that we’re trying to make here is that you would probably want to give them some grace.

This is a concept that you should apply to yourself as well, though.  It’s not just for others if they make a mistake.  You are also allowed to make mistakes – it’s a part of being human!  Don’t forget to forgive yourself for that.

Rather than punishing yourself if you mess up, instead try to reward yourself for a job well done.  Incentivize yourself if you have to!  Work isn’t always going to be a walk in the park – sometimes we really have to convince ourselves to get everything done.  This doesn’t mean that you’re flawed or lazy, it just means that you need to approach the issue with a different lens.

While it may not always be an easy feat, that’s okay too.  Learning these sorts of things is a long process.  Additionally, unlearning some old habits can be tricky as well.

That’s why so many folks have started to listen to motivational podcasts and audio books or blogs.  Sure, there are books, but listening tends to be much more convenient at the end of the day.  Beyond that, it’s also just more enjoyable to watch someone speak (or listen to them on the way to work) since it means that we can multitask.

Hopefully, some of the resources that we’ve provided above will be helpful, and you can get some enjoyment out of trying the podcast!
