Professor Lou Galambos, Professor of History, Johns Hopkins University, has written a paper entitled ‘What are the Prospects for a New Golden Era in Vaccines?’, in which he examines the requirements to create and foster a vibrant, innovative, vaccines industry. In this paper, Professor Galambos considers the current threats to vaccine innovation and production, and sets out his thoughts on what should be done to encourage the development of this vital industry. The paper was published in partnership with the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry and financial support was provided by Merck Sharp & Dohme Ltd.
