The Government has issued a formal, written response to a report published by the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee on pandemic influenza. The response follows a debate in the House of Lords on 20 January 2006.
The Government has issued a formal, written response to a report published by the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee on pandemic influenza. The response follows a debate in the House of Lords on 20 January 2006.
In its report, the Government acknowledges that a specific vaccine would be the best form of protection against pandemic influenza. It also notes that incentives to the industry with a view to developing surge capacity for production of pandemic vaccines should be explored.
UVIG welcomes the publication of the Government’s report and its continuing discussion on pandemic influenza preparedness.
